Terms of Use
Effective 20 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Peter Aldridge ("we", "us") for using the Driller's Book app. By using the app you agree to them. Words with a capital letter, such as Driller and Bowler, are explained in section 19.
1. About the app
Driller's Book keeps a Driller's records of Bowlers, their Fit and Release, and the Drilled Balls drilled for them, and includes a dual angle layout calculator.
2. Free and subscribed Drillers
- Free: up to 5 Bowlers, each with any number of Drilled Balls, and the full calculator. Records stay on your device. You don't need an account.
- Subscribed: no limit on Bowlers, and your records sync and back up across the devices you sign in on. You need an account.
3. Subscribing
- You subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, monthly or yearly, at the price shown in the app before you buy. Apple or Google takes the payment under their own terms.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it.
- If we raise the price, Apple or Google will tell you before it applies, and ask for your agreement where their rules require it.
4. Cancelling your subscription
- Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. The app's Settings links there. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
- Deleting your account or the app doesn't cancel the subscription. Only the store can.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- When a subscription ends, syncing stops and everything on your device stays usable. You can't add a Bowler while you have 5 or more. Section 15 covers what happens to the records we hold.
5. If you're under 18
The app is meant for adults working with bowling equipment. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use it and to subscribe.
6. Licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own drilling work, while you follow these terms. You may not copy, sell or reverse engineer the app, except as the law allows.
7. Intellectual property
- The app, its design and its calculator belong to us or our licensors.
- Your records belong to you. You give us permission to store, sync and back them up so the app can work, and for nothing else.
8. Your account
- An account belongs to one Driller. Don't share it.
- Keep access to your sign-in email or Apple or Google account secure; whoever controls it can sign in.
- Tell us at support@drillersbook.com if you think someone else has used your account.
9. Your privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
10. Your Bowlers' information
You decide which Bowlers to record and what to record about them. We store that information for you and use it for nothing else. You're responsible for:
- having your Bowlers' permission, or another lawful reason, to record their details;
- answering a Bowler who asks what you hold about them, or asks you to correct or delete it;
- not recording health details, or anything else a Bowler wouldn't expect a Driller to keep.
11. Your obligations when using the app
Don't use the app to break the law, to record information you have no right to hold, or to interfere with the app or other Drillers' records.
12. Technical requirements
The app needs a supported version of iOS, iPadOS or Android. Syncing needs an internet connection; everything else works offline. Keep the app updated, as older versions may stop syncing.
13. Support
Email support@drillersbook.com. We aim to reply within [2 business days].
14. Ending this agreement
- You can stop using the app, and delete your account in Settings, at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. We'll tell you why first, unless the law or a risk to others prevents it.
- If we stop offering the app, we'll give subscribers at least [30] days' notice and a way to export their records.
15. What happens to your records
- Deleting your account removes it and its records from our servers straight away, and clears them from the device you deleted it on. Export them first if you want a copy.
- When a subscription ends, we keep the account's records for 12 months so you can sign in and export them, and email you 30 days and 7 days before deleting them. The copy on your device isn't touched.
- Signing out removes the account's records from that device; they stay in your account.
16. The calculator, and drilling
The calculator works out a layout from the numbers you enter. It's an aid to your professional judgement, not a replacement for it. Check every layout before you drill. We aren't responsible for a ball drilled from a layout you didn't check, or from numbers entered incorrectly.
17. Australian Consumer Law and our liability
- Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits them.
- Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a failure to meet a guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
- Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost business or the cost of a ball, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
18. General
- We may change these terms. We'll show the new date at the top and tell signed-in Drillers in the app at least [30] days before a change that affects them takes effect.
- The laws of Western Australia govern these terms.
- If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
19. Words used in these terms
- Driller: you, the person who lays out and drills bowling balls and uses the app.
- Bowler: a person whose details and measurements a Driller records.
- Drilled Ball: one ball drilled for one Bowler, with the layout and measurements it was drilled to.
- Records: everything a Driller enters in the app.
Schedule: if you got the app from the App Store
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA) also applies to your use of it. In short:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its support.
- If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price if any. Beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple isn't responsible for claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms against you.
